Krisani is a lifestyle brand built around objects that celebrate material, form and thoughtful living. Their products are made using a range of materials, each chosen for its texture, finish and tactile quality.
They approached us to design special gifting packaging and custom packaging paper that could extend this material-led philosophy into the experience of giving.
Challenge
How do you design gifting packaging that feels intentional and elevated, while reflecting a brand that plays with materiality and contrast?
Krisani needed a system that enhances the act of gifting without overpowering the product. The aim was to add meaning, softness and discovery, while remaining versatile across formats
and occasions.
Story
We began by understanding how Krisani’s products are gifted, received and held. The focus was not just on presentation, but on creating a moment. Something that feels considered from the first touch to the final reveal.
Since materiality sits at the heart of the brand, we explored how different textures could be translated visually.
System
Rather than literal representations, we worked with line, grain and pattern, drawing from the surfaces and finishes of the products themselves. Illustrations, landscapes and subtle graphic textures became a way to echo this material play, allowing the packaging to feel expressive yet restrained.
The final system brings together gifting boxes, illustrated inlays and custom packaging paper as one cohesive experience. Clean, minimal exteriors keep the focus on the product, while the inside of the box reveals layered illustrations and textures—creating a quiet moment of discovery.
The inlay patterns are inspired by the varied materials Krisani works with, translated into fine linework and organic forms.
Custom wrapping paper acts as a flexible layer for wrapping, protection and presentation, carrying the same visual language across touchpoints. Together, the system celebrates contrast mirroring the philosophy behind the products themselves.
